Understanding taxation of funds

This session explains the reporting and taxation of growth, income and cash flow out of investment funds. Attendees will gain a clearer understanding of the differences in reporting between segregated funds and mutual funds both during the accumulation period and for payout plans. Attendees will also learn how they work in both individually owned and corporate owned scenarios through the use of case studies.

Our team will address the question of the reporting of capital distributions, including a section on how a capital dividend account may be used to distribute certain types of investment income.
