T-1 to T+1

One day settlement for many securities is just one year away – but it excludes Canadian mutual funds

The US SEC has set May 28, 2024 as the transition date to shorten the securities settlement cycle from T+2 to T+1. In most cases and with one major exception, Canada will follow suit and stay in line with its most critical trading partner. This bulletin highlights the changes to come by next year.
