| Canadians less rosy on the economy | Leading indicators suggest that sentiment across Canadian consumers and businesses has fallen in recent months. Rate hikes finally made a dent in European inflation in October, but at a cost. The euro zone economy shrank by 0.1% over the third quarter ("Q3"), showing the fine line between quelling inflation and avoiding recession.
Meanwhile, the U.S. economy continued to charge ahead in Q3. Advanced estimates showed the U.S. grew at its fastest pace since the final quarter of 2021, propelled by stronger exports, consumer spending and real estate investment. In this month's update, we take stock of the global investment landscape as higher rates and colder temperatures start to bite. | Read the full market commentary on canadalifeinvest.ca, including the following topics:
- Canadian business and consumer sentiment waning
- U.S. economic growth stays strong in Q3
