| We would like to share an important update regarding one-time Pre-Authorized Debit (PAD) processing for BMO Guaranteed Investment Funds (GIFs). What’s changing Two GIF administrative forms have been updated and are now available on the BMO GIF Forms and Materials page:
| Limited Trading Authorization (LTA) – Form 613 |
| Subsequent Transaction Form – Form 611 | Effective March 3, 2026
| Advisors with an LTA will no longer be permitted to instruct one time PAD requests. |
| Any existing one-time PAD authorizations on file can no longer be used. One-time PADs will require a new, client signed PAD agreement using Form 611E. | | Prior versions of Forms 613 and 611 will continue to be accepted until March 2, 2026. | What this means for you
| The updated LTA (Form 613) aligns with Canadian Payments Association PAD guidelines and confirms that an advisor cannot initiate a one time PAD without a new, duly signed PAD agreement. |
| The updated Subsequent Transaction Form (Form 611) allows BMO, as Payee, to establish one or more PAD arrangements using the same banking information and removes language permitting an LTA to sign on behalf of the payor. | Please ensure you are using the latest versions of these forms for all new submissions and plan accordingly ahead of the March 3, 2026, effective date.
