I’m pleased to share some important leadership updates at Advocis that mark a continued step forward in our commitment to serve you and elevate the profession across Canada. We are excited to welcome Curtis Kimpton, CFP, CLU, CIM as the new Chair of the Board of Directors. Curtis brings a strong and inspiring vision focused on modernizing our governance, reuniting our chapters, strengthening our advocacy, and ensuring our members remain at the heart of every decision we make. At the same time, we extend our sincere thanks to Al Jones, CFP, CLU, ICD.D whose term as Chair has come to a close. Al provided steady, principled leadership through a period of significant challenge and change. His commitment to Advocis and our mission helped lay a stronger foundation for the future, and we are grateful for the legacy he leaves behind. Al will serve as Past Chair and we know that the Board will continue to benefit from his involvement and commitment to this association. We are also proud to welcome four new members to our Board: - Tannis Dwason, CPA, CA, CFP, TEP, DEA, CLU, RRC
- Kelly Ho, CFP, CCS
- Chris Hudson, CFP, CLU, CHS
- Tina Tehranchian, CFP, CLU, CH.F.C., CIM
These individuals bring valuable expertise and diverse perspectives that reflect our renewed focus on financial oversight, strategic agility, risk governance, member responsiveness, and grassroots engagement. Together, they strengthen our ability to lead with integrity and respond to the evolving needs of the profession. We’re also pleased to welcome back Arun Channan, BASc, MASc, MBA, P.Eng., CSP, CFP; Sara La Gamba, CHS, CFP, CLU, TEP; and Ejaz Nadeem, MA, CFP, CLU to the Board. Their continued involvement ensures we maintain continuity while building on the strong foundation of experience and insight that supports our work. This new Board reflects the future Advocis is building — one that is modern, member-driven, and grounded in its responsibility to both the profession and the public. It represents our ongoing commitment to strong governance, deep engagement with our chapters and members, and the evolution of Advocis as the leading voice for financial advisors and planners in Canada. Thank you for your continued trust and dedication. Together, we are building a stronger and more united profession, and Advocis will be with you every step of the way. |
