As we enter spring, things have continued to heat up at Advocis! A few highlights include:

  • Advocis Coffee Talks continues to bring espresso-sized webinars to members on a wide range of topics with CE accreditation for that bit of extra "kick."
  • Manager Members of Advocis are invited by GAMA Global Canada to register for LAMP 2023, which will be held April 30th – May 2nd in Las Vegas, Nevada. Learn more about this premier event for financial services leaders.
  • Join us for The Essentials of Estate Planning this two-part webinar series on March 22nd & 30th. Featuring Kevin Wark and Glenn Stephens, together they will use a series of case studies to review estate planning issues.

 

 

FHSAs: Beyond the basics

The tax-free First Home Savings Account (“FHSA”) gives prospective first-time home buyers the ability to save up to $40,000 on a tax-free basis towards the purchase of a first home in Canada. Like a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP), contributions to an FHSA are tax deductible and withdrawals to purchase a first home – including withdrawals of any investment income or growth earned in the account –  are non-taxable, just like Tax-Free Savings Accounts (TFSAs). [..] Read more
