| | Advocis is looking for members who are active on the investment side of the business to join the Investment Sub-committee (ISC). The ISC is a volunteer committee of Advocis members which guides the association’s policy development on investment issues.

| Responsibilities include: |
|
| - Reviewing consultations released by securities regulators (Canadian Securities Administrators, the New SRO, provincial securities commissions) and various provincial governments
- Providing input to assist staff’s responses to these consultations
- Attending quarterly videoconference meetings to discuss active policy issues and provide feedback to Advocis’ Board of Directors

| The Issues: These are some of the recent and current issues before the ISC: - Advocis' Professions Model and title protection across Canada
- The implementation of the client-focused reforms
- The launch of the New SRO
- Directed commissions and advisor incorporation

| Why Join the ISC? By volunteering, you are helping to shape the policy direction of your national association. Advocis has a proven track record of influencing the public policy debate across the country: our policy positions are respected by, and carry weight with, regulators and industry peers alike. We’re known for putting forward pragmatic ideas that have the client’s interests at heart. You will also have an opportunity to connect with expert peers on the ISC. Many run their own firms and take leadership roles in the industry. ISC members share their knowledge with and learn from each other, to mutual benefit. |

| Qualifications: We are looking for individuals who are: - Currently a member of Advocis in good standing
- Prepared to volunteer for at least a two-year commitment
- Registered with a provincial securities regulator for at least five years
- Experienced with investment regulatory matters, ideally in a compliance role
|

| | How to Apply: Please apply by February 24, 2023, by sending an email with a cover letter and resume. Please mention: - The provinces in which you are registered
- Whether you hold any other product licenses or operate in other areas (such as life and health insurance, mortgages, or so on)
- Any designations you have attained
- The nature and length of your experience in the financial services industry
- The experience you have with policy development
- Whether you have any roles (professional or personal, within the industry or outside of it) that might be construed to be a conflict of interest with the duties of an ISC member.
