This year, Advocis will kick off Financial Literacy Month on November 2nd with a special presentation from Dr. Supriya Syal, Deputy Commissioner of Research, Policy, and Education, Financial Consumer Agency of Canada (FCAC).
Dr. Syal will present FCAC's National Financial Literacy Strategy for 2021 - 2026, and offer insights into how this important plan can impact you as a financial advisor.
An archive of the talk will be posted on Financial Advice For All. |

To provide members with an asset for Financial Literacy Month that we hope can help you engage the families within your practice, we have created the Junior Financial Advisor (jFA) Fin Lit Kit.
Available to you digitally in a variety of formats to print or email as you would like, the kit features 14 pages of activities and tips for kids related to financial literacy, as well as an accompanying discussion guide for parents and guardians with questions that can help guide conversations as kids move through the book.
While slightly more targeted towards older children with a higher degree of reading comprehension, the book was designed to be friendly for adults to do the activities with their kids - and to start talking about money!
The kit is available for download on Financial Advice For All. |

Roblox is a massively-popular online platform where users can create their own games and experiences. It is played by hundreds of millions of kids (primarily ages 7 - 13) across Canada and around the world, making it an invaluable place to engage a younger audience on financial literacy.
To make this happen, we have created The jFA Financial Literacy Quiz Obby - a free, publicly-available game for kids with a financial literacy quiz alongside a challenging obstacle course.
Features include warp gates for younger kids (or parents who aren't as good at these games as they used to be!) as well as the ability to earn an in-game Roblox badge for making it all the way to the top! |
|
We hope that both the new and existing resources on Financial Advice For All will be a valuable asset to you and your practice as you continue to work with your clients to engage them on the vital issue of financial literacy.
