As you know, we’re updating the Traveller Medical Questionnaire (MQ) on August 19th. The new MQ will continue to consist of 5 questions for customers aged 60+, ensuring that Traveller will remain one of the easiest, fastest, and most straightforward travel insurance products to sell.
We understand that the new MQ represents a change to how you sell the product. Your TuGo Account Manager is available to provide online training and to answer any questions you may have. We’ve also created a video to help you get better acquainted with the upcoming changes to the MQ.
What else is changing on August 19?
Besides the new MQ and its revised rate structure, there will be other changes, including:
- Special 2-Day Annual Plan: we're offering a shorter 2-Day Multi Trip Annual Emergency Medical Worldwide Plan option with a sharp price point (starting at $35), designed to increase annual sales and your overall travel insurance renewal/retention rates.
- Province of Residence: medical rates for Canadian travellers will now reflect their province of residence.
- Minimum premium: the minimum premium for outbound Emergency Medical plans will be adjusted to $20 for all provinces.
- New trip lengths for Multi Trip Annual Emergency Worldwide Medical plans: travellers can now choose between annual trip lengths of 2/5/10/15/20/35 or 60 days.
- New baggage rates: travellers will now pay one flat rate, rather than rates based on trip length.
Later in the year we also plan to update and enhance coverage for the Traveller product, as well as introduce a new Visitors to Canada product. We'll be in touch once we're closer to launching those changes.
