Updated
Life insurance financial underwriting guidelines
Financial
underwriting guidelines are implemented together with premium
affordability guidelines. The newly updated table addresses face amount per insurance need, we
also consider the total insurance per insured.
Bundle
offers coming to Sun eApp plus a new Term and CII offer
We’re updating Sun
eApp with a new feature to more efficiently meet Clients’ needs. It
will soon be easier to bundle products together when special offers are
available. And, we have an exciting new bundle opportunity coming with
the Term and CII special offer!
Starting October 6,
Sun eApp will be enhanced to support our popular product bundle offers.
Sun eApp will include a new Product bundling feature
that will help you uncover and provide opportunities to meet Clients’
holistic needs - in a just few clicks. This enhancement will save you
time and make it easier for you to grow your business.
With this initial Sun
eApp update, you can expect the Product bundling feature to continue to

Sun CII maximum issue limit increased to
$4 million
Starting October 6,
Sun Life is announcing an increase to the maximum issue limit for Sun
Critical Illness Insurance (CII), from $3 million to $4 million.
This increase
provides high-net-worth individuals and business owners enhanced
financial security for their unique needs. With up to $4 million in
critical illness insurance protection, Clients have more options to
help safeguard their finances and lifestyles.

Earlier this week,
you and your assistants received an email with a survey about your
journey with Sun Life.
We want to understand
your experience with Sun Life better. That’s why this survey doesn’t
focus on a specific product. It should take less than 15 minutes to
complete and is open to advisors and assistants (both licensed and
non-licensed).

help us recognize the highs (moments of delight) and lows (pain points)

As the Mid-Autumn
Festival approaches, we wish you a happy holiday and joyful reunion in

We have prepared a
series of new marketing and brand promotion resources to help you
easily showcase Sun Life’s value to Chinese-speaking Clients and expand
your business opportunities.
- Sun Life 160th year: A new brand
video and an updated brand brochure are now available. Please
visit Suncentral to download and use them to
demonstrate Sun Life’s financial strength and brand credibility to
Clients.
- Sun Par highlight video: Based on the
Sun Par Facts & Figures material, we’ve produced a new video
that presents Sun Par’s highlights and value in a more vivid and
dynamic way. The video was published in early September on the Sun
Life Canada WeChat official account, and in November we’ll promote
it again on the WeChat platform.
- Vancouver Airport
digital ad: Since mid-August, for the first
time we’ve launched a digital screen advertisement at Vancouver
Airport in the international arrivals’ baggage claim area to
showcase the Sun Life brand image. Starting September 25, the
content will switch to a Mid-Autumn theme, featuring the Term +
CII bundle offer.
- WeChat official account: The Sun Life
official WeChat account regularly shares practical financial,
insurance, and health information. We encourage you to invite
Clients to follow and share it. Please scan the QR code
for details.
Help Clients living with diabetes apply
to win big and boost your commissions
Sun Life’s Diabetes Protect
to Win Contest,
is running from July 1 to December 31, 2025. This initiative not only
offers Clients living with diabetes a chance to win $5,000 and a
matching donation for a charity supporting diabetes but also gives you
the chance to earn bonus commissions!
The Term conversion offer is back!
The Term conversion
offer is back! Please review the offer carefully as some
details have changed.
From July 1 –
September 30, Clients who submit an existing term policy for a
term-to-perm conversion may be eligible to receive a cheque valued at
three months of their premium or cost of insurance (COI).

policies
We’re letting Clients
know there is no change to Sun Adjustable Whole Life policies.
We recently finished
a review and won’t be making any adjustments at this time. You
don’t have to take any action.

It’s important to be
aware of these key deadlines for delivery requirements and settling
policies. Knowing these dates will ensure the cases are part of your
2025 commissions.

We’re updating Client addresses
From September 12-14,
we’re running the annual Client address clean-up in our systems. You
may notice an increase in address updates in Activity Centre.
Address changes can
result from postal code corrections, the addition of missing street
information or address reformatting to comply with Canada Post
standards.

presentation reviews the tax reporting rules surrounding trusts and
shows how a properly structured segregated fund contract could be a

different ways to structure a segregated fund contract to meet Clients’
unique wealth transfer needs.

statements. It includes case studies to demonstrate what the various

statements.
