Manulife Investments Dollar Cost Averaging Series

Good Morning!

With the combination of RSP/TFSA season mixed with recent market volatility, we have been getting a lot questions regarding our dollar cost averaging series. Please find below an explanation on how our DCA series work on our mutual fund and seg fund platforms.  Also linked are our fund recommendations and sample portfolios.

 Mutual Funds – Dollar Cost Averaging Series

• New deposits only
  • Cannot switch existing money into DCA Series
• Every mutual fund has its unique fund code for DCA Series
• Automatically divides your purchase into 52 weekly switches from Dollar Cost Averaging Fund to target fund
  • Default 52 week program
  • Full or partial switches or redemptions from DCA series is permitted
• Available in advisor series and F-Series
• 0% MER on the DCA portion (MER only applies to funds that have been switched to target fund)
• Advisor compensated as if they bought the fund in full
• Current DCA Fund rate = 0.15%  (see updated rates HERE)

Seg Funds Dollar Cost Averaging Fund

• New deposits only and funds are invested in the Manulife Dollar Cost Averaging Fund
• Advisors and Clients have 90 days to provide investment (switching) instructions
• Weekly, biweekly, monthly switches are permitted
• Funds must be fully transferred out of the Dollar Cost Average Fund within 12 months (90 days to provide instructions + max 12 months of switches)
• Available in both InvestmentPlus and Seg Fund Private Investment Pools
• Advisors receive fixed income trailer on DCA Fund
• 0% MER for DCA Fund
• Current DCA Rate is 0.05% (see current rates HERE)
