New Continuing Education Requirements for Licensees in June |
New Continuing Education Guidelines will come into effect for all Insurance Council licensees starting June 1, 2021. The Continuing Education (CE) Guidelines are made up of guideline documents for each licence class which describe the CE requirements that licensees must meet annually. From June 1 onward, these guidelines will replace the existing guidance for CE provided by prior practice advisory Notices. Until June 1, 2021, the current CE requirements remain in effect. Licensees are still required to meet their CE requirements for the 2021 licence period (June 1, 2020 to May 31, 2021) by May 31, 2021 under the current criteria. After that, licensees will need to be in compliance with the requirements of the new guidelines for the licence period occurring June 1, 2021 to May 31, 2022. |

In May, we’ll be hosting a webinar about the new guidelines and answering your questions about CE. Please watch for an event invitation email to follow closer to that time. We’re also working on developing additional tools and resources for licensees including:
For background about the consultation process on the guidelines, and what we heard from licensees, you can see our update from February.
