In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, in April 2020, BMO Insurance implemented a temporary E-delivery solution to allow advisors to deliver policy contracts during the lockdown period. As our regular operations resume, we will be restarting our paper contract delivery process.
- Effective, September 8th, 2020, all BMO Insurance life and critical illness insurance policy contracts will be delivered by paper, via courier, to your Distributor’s (MGA and National Account) office.
BMO Insurance will continue to offer E-delivery processing on a request only basis until further notice.
If you or your client prefers E-delivery, this will be accommodated on request using the OneDrive process established in April 2020.
- Advisors should request E-delivery on each application that it is required. In these cases, the paper contract will also be sent to the Distributor for delivery to the client.
- If E-delivery is required on any applications already submitted but not yet issued by September 8th, please email the request for E-delivery
BMO Insurance has begun mailing paper contracts for policies that were E-delivered since April 2020.
- Paper contracts are being sent to Distributors' offices in batches, as volumes permit.
- Contracts that were previously E-delivered will have this noted on an attached cover memo.
- If a policy was reissued during the lockdown period, BMO Insurance will only send the final paper contract.
- If a policy was issued and subsequently not taken or cancelled during the lockdown period, the paper contract will not be mailed. The client should have received a case closure letter.
BMO Insurance will let you know if it becomes necessary for us to return to E-delivery as our default delivery method in the future.
