New Appointments to TFAAC Board of Directors

Welcoming the 2020/2021 TFAAC Board of Directors

On behalf of the Association, I would like to welcome John Hamilton and Sara Gelgor as new additions to the 2020/2021 TFAAC Board of Directors. Sara will serve as Public Director, and in addition to his board seat John will also serve as Chair of the Institute & Board of Trustees.

John Hamilton, CLU, FEA

John began his financial services career with London Life in 1980 and has been with RBC Financial group member companies since 1987 in various business development, operational and distribution sales positions. Currently, John is President of RBC Wealth Management Financial Services. He has been a board member at the Institute since 2011, and is an associate member of CALU (Conference for Advanced Life Underwriting).

Sara Gelgor, LLB, LLM, MBA, ICD. D.

Sara is an experienced board director and financial services executive. Sara has served as a board member of for-profit and not-for-profit organizations, including Toronto Hydro and the University of Toronto Governing Council Business Board, and has been named to the Diversity 50 by the Canadian Board Diversity Council. Currently, Sara leads regulatory compliance oversight for the wealth planning and retail banking operations at HSBC Bank Canada, and from 2003 to 2008 she held the staff position of Vice President of Regulatory Affairs here at Advocis.

Finally, I would like to thank Patricia Ziegler and Kevin Williams for their contributions as they depart the Board. Their service to TFAAC and the role they have played in raising the professional bar for financial advisors has been commendable, and we look forward to their continued efforts as proud members of the Advocis community.
